What if years of reacting to everything on the shelf, of feeling frustrated and defeated by my own skin, were the exact reasons I became a formulator?

My skin didn’t inspire a business because it looked perfect. It pushed me into the world of ingredients, research, and small-batch blending because nothing else worked.

Worthy Skin Care didn’t start with flawless skin. It started with sensitive skin—and a refusal to settle for products that made things worse.

How it Started:

My interest in skin care products started as an act of self-defense. After thoughtlessly eating a protein bar I bought at the dollar store, an allergic reaction “fried” my skin, ruined my skin’s microbiome and left me with misshapen scars.

I figured a few weeks of medicine would reverse the damage of my suddenly leathery skin. But four different dermatologists told me that the damage was permanent and that I needed to learn how to wear makeup.

Refusing to give up, I spent thousands of dollars over many years buying every hyped skincare fix on the market. Nothing worked. IN 2015 I moved to upstate, New York, where we didn’t have a lot of makeup counters. What was I going to do?

As I began experimenting with natural ingredients, many were discarded for making my skin angrier. With nothing to lose, I kept trying. By using my sensitive skin as a guinea pig, I researched ingredients with scientifically proven skin benefits and tried them one at a time.

Jojoba oil was the first oil my skin could tolerate. BIG win there. I kept researching and experimenting and ended up with ten ingredients that tamed my skin and reversed the damage. For a few years I played with ingredients until I formulated skin loving serums and moisturizers.

As my skin improved, friends begged for bottles. I used the same pure and cold-pressed ingredients for them. Slowly this helpful hobby became Worthy Skin Care.

When I started Worthy Skin Care, I have followed five rules:

1. If I won’t put it on my own face, I won’t put it in a product. That rule—and my sensitive skin-- have guided everything I make.

   
   

2. I will only use ingredients that are scientifically proven to improve the skin.

   
   

3. Products will be AFFORDABLE.
   

4. Products will be WATERLESS.
   

5. Products will be made in small batches.

These rules have guided everything I make. I never mix special products for myself; I use the same products that are sold to others. Intense research pushes me to stay up with the best ingredients, no matter the cost. It was important to me that my friends could afford to buy Worthy Skin Care's products made from all-natural and organic ingredients sourced from the best farms around the world.

This also explains why I choose natural ingredients over synthetic ones every time.
